Gwinnett Tea Party to Merge With Cobb

21 June 2009 - As protesters fill the streets of Tehran today, many of us here in the States prepare to celebrate that day when our country took similar actions to secure our freedoms. It is an inherent part of our Declaration of Independence that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights" and that "whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it".

Our prayers are with you.

In a somewhat related issue, the Gwinnett Tea Party has been forced to cancel, and they will be joining us here in Cobb County to make celebration even bigger and louder. Herman Cain will be joining us, so you know it will be good!

Please see the attached memo from my good friend Debbie Ellis-Dooley:

ATLANTA TEA PARTY TO JOIN WITH COBB FOR METRO-WIDE TEA PARTY JULY 3RD

Atlanta Tea Party in Gwinnett forced to cancel

Suwanee, GA. - The Atlanta Tea Party was forced to cancel it's Independence Day celebration in Gwinnett, after losing it's location due to the objection of Gwinnett Place Mall (a Simon company.) The Tea Party had been scheduled to take place in the parking lot of the old Macy's building at Gwinnett Place since March.

"It is unfortunate the event had to be canceled," said Julianne Thompson, event co-organizer. She continued, "The old Macy's building is on private property, and not owned by Simon Malls, however the mall manager asked the property owner and I to come in the office on Thursday of this week, and told us Simon does not want political events on it's property. They were also concerned about the fact we were using the term "protest." Although the event was on private property, the mall was able to assert authority on the matter due to reciprocal property easement agreements."

Event Co-Chair Debbie Dooley stated, "Our Atlanta Tea Party team tried for the next day and a half to find an alternative location large enough for the event, and with the proper layout for our vendors, children's activities, and fireworks show, but we could not find anything suitable that would have been available on July 4th."

Thompson said, The Atlanta Tea Party organizers want to thank everyone in Gwinnett who worked hard to try to make this event a success: Judi Quigley, Bill Simon, Mark Williams (Printing Trade Company,) Kathy Hildebrand, Theresa Kenerly, Brett Harrell, and George Thorndyke (who was graciously allowing us to use his property free of charge, and sponsoring fireworks.) I also want to thank the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District for welcoming us to the area, and the Gwinnett and 7th District GOP for promising volunteers for the event."

Dooley stated, "The most important thing to do at this point is to stay on message, so we are joining forces with the Cobb for a large metro-area Tea Party on Friday, July 3rd, at 6 PM. The event is at Jim Miller Park at 2245 Callaway Road in Marietta. For information on the event, contact Cobb organizer Ben Mihalski at 770-726-7188, or visit http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.cobbteaparty.com ."
If you are not in the Metro Atlanta area, then please attend a Tea party near you. For more information, please visit http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.teapartypatriots.org
Thompson added, "The Atlanta Tea Party has a great team and is already planning for the July 17th Tea Party Patriots Protests at Congressional offices all across Georgia over nationalized health care. We will work hard to make sure our voices are heard and our message is clear."

CONSERVATIVE PAC FORMING IN EAST COBB

7 June 2009 -

The following is from Sherri Reese, the organizer of the GA Tea Parties. This is a good way for someone to get into the conservative political process locally.

GA Grassroots in action is a having a Pasta Night (Spaghetti Dinner) this Saturday, June 13th at the Mountain View Community Center in Cobb County on Sandy Plains Rd.

As the State Coordinator for the Tax Day Tea Parties on April 15th here in GA, I have traveled across GA speaking to fellow citizens. One thing I have learned is that each of YOU want an opportunity to speak and be heard, not just show up to hear other folks talk. I have also heard an outcry for actions that will help us be EFFECTIVE in regaining control of the very government that is supposed to be serving us by protecting our rights, not serving their own self-interests in career longevity at the peril of our rights and liberties. This has been the inspiration for the creation of Grassroots in Action.

Please join us on June 13th. Each speaker will allow for question and answer time following thier presentions- and if you don't have a question, but would like to share your thoughts on issues- that would be TREMENDOUS! We will also have an exclusive to announcing the launch of two different programs designed to be effective in regaining our voice. Each attendee will recieve a goody bag and a survey along with dinner. There will be trivia and prizes as well! Please forward this announcement to people you know who would want to attend- there are still seats available!
